Terry Bowdler, CVLE

Chief Executive Officer

For over 30 years, Terry Bowdler has developed an extensive knowledge of the leasing industry and leasing finance from a variety of professional and practical sources.

After being top sales representative for General Car Leasing, he moved to Autoland Corp. where he advanced to the position of vice president in two years. He stayed at Autoland until 1984 and then became the owner of Auto Lease Specialists.  In 1986 he co-founded New Cars, Inc., an auto buying and leasing service where he realized the impact leasing would soon have on the market place and the need for credit unions to offer a competitive, consumer friendly lease program to their members. As a result of that vision, Bowdler founded Credit Union Leasing of America in 1988.

In 1987, he was the legal and legislative committee head for the National Vehicle Leasing Association and also was the San Diego Chapter chairman for the association in 1985 and 1986. He also became a Certified Vehicle Leasing Executive in 1986.

Bowdler strongly believes in the need for credit unions to establish a relationship involving indirect leasing with auto dealers in their market area. It is this belief that has helped Credit Union Leasing of America grow into the largest credit union indirect leasing company in America. This growth, coupled with the success of our client credit unions, is proof-positive credit unions can offer formidable competition in the leasing market.
